Fairmont Farm is located in Central Vermont, just outside of Montpelier. Fairmont is a third generation family dairy farm and is proud to be a member of Cabot Creamery Cooperative.
The owners of Fairmont Farm are Richard and Bonnie Hall and their nephew Tucker Purchase. The mission at the farm is “the safety and happiness of our people, the cleanliness of our environment and the health of our animals”.
Fairmont raises Registered Holsteins with an emphasis on genomics and type. Currently we are milking close to 1500 cows and raising all of our replacement heifer calves.
Conservation practices are very important at Fairmont. With about 3,000 acres of cropland, we are continuously looking for new technologies that improve water quality and crop yield.
The Udderly Crazy 4-H Club was created in 2009. This is a great way for us to be involved in the community while helping local youth learn about the dairy industry.
This year will be the first year of our Dairy Day Camp, this is another way we are inviting families to our dairy farm to learn about farming.
We have also partnered up with a number of local schools for field trips to tour the farm, this is a unique opportunity for students to relate any number of things that we do on the farm back to their studies. We have hosted field trips for Science, Writing, Spanish and anything in between!
We are fortunate to have breathtaking views at the Farm so we have created a Farm Wedding Venue. Our venue sits on top of a hill with almost 360 degree mountain views, the venue is surrounded by cornfields and features a small pine grove.
